Game Overview
Under the Coat is a 2D story-driven adventure platformer where players step into the paws of a stray cat struggling to survive the harsh city streets. As the cat searches for its missing friends, it gradually uncovers the dark truth behind the fur industry.
Through exploration, combat, and encounters with other strays and humans, the game blends survival themes with an emotional narrative of resilience and advocacy.

​Inspiration
This game was inspired by a real-life incident in China, where online influencers selling cat-fur apparel is the inspiration for Under the Coat. Despite public outrage, they faced no real punishment due to weak animal protection laws. By weaving this reality into an allegorical game experience about stray cats, I aim to raise awareness about animal cruelty, question the lack of protective laws, and advocate for stronger legislation through interactive storytelling.
